Hear what others are saying to see what you can expect on your journey.
We are dedicated to improving the lives of the hearing impaired, one patient at a time. Everything we do is to help people with hearing loss enjoy the sounds, voices, people and conversations in their lives. We take great pride in helping people get back the gift of hearing—there is nothing more gratifying.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your wonderful attention to restoring not only my, but my dad’s hearing. As you are very well aware, we had put off our evaluations, fearing the worst, only to discover the best – your kind, compassionate and highly expert care. The results were restored hearing and a sensitivity for preserving hearing that is being transferred to our friends, family, and, in my case, my radio audience. You are an extraordinary clinician and exceptional and caring partner in hearing health. In the future, I hope that others will take this testimonial to heart for their hearing’s sake. I look forward to seeing you again for a hearing “tune-up” in the near future.
Randall W. Tobler, M.D.
With great pleasure I write this to you. You facilitated one of the best experiences of my life. You gave me my mother back! She hadn’t heard and nearly not spoken for years. Her last experience with hearing aids was very unpleasant and she refused to use them. I brought her to you (after having been highly recommended by a doctor friend of mine), and the very same day you fit her with the perfect aid that made her comfortable and then willing to use them regularly. SHE CAN HEAR! It’s wonderful. We are communicating appropriately and comfortably for the first time in 9 years. How does one thank you for something like this. You and your staff are kind, caring and very patient and you produced a miracle.
I don’t know why I waited so long. The new generation of “receiver-in-the-canal” (RIC) hearing aids together with the professional service from Ballas Hearing & Audiology has changed my life. These aren’t your grandfather’s hearing aids; they are so small that I can’t even tell that I am wearing them. Dr. Susan Lew and her staff are extraordinary. If you have ever thought about being able to hear again, give Susan a call, don’t wait.
I want you to know how pleased I am with my new hearing aids. I didn’t know anything could make my hearing so natural. I’ve had batteries last 16 days, which I’ve never had in my 18 hears of wearing aids. I am also happy that I purchased the hearing aid dryer. Being an outside person, I feel this will extend the life of my aids.
The most wonderful feeling I encountered the day I received my hearing aids was the sound of running water from the faucet….then the following morning the sound of the birds through the walls of my house. I didn’t realize I haven’t been hearing for years not to mention the highs of the violins and the lows of the tubas and bass in most music. Being in the music industry all my life, those were the most recognizable. Thank you!
At age 81, I was terrified because I couldn’t hear anymore and I was afraid I would have to live out the rest of my life in a silent world. I visited several hearing specialists and they confirmed my fears by saying that hearing aids would not help me. However, one of these specialists referred me to Susan Lew and that referral changed my life! I was so surprised and ecstatic when Susan suggested hearing aids for me. I bought my first set of hearing aids, and I can now both hear and understand what is going on around me. I consider Susan an angel because she saved me from the desperation I felt when I thought I would never hear again. She is a wonderful helper and healer.
I have been meaning to drop a line to thank you for getting me on track to dry out my hearing aids. I had been using the round disk you put in the oven for 30 minutes and this was not doing the job. Susan suggested a hearing aid dryer system that circulates warm air to remove moisture. THANK YOU! I have been using this system for the last nine months and it has been doing a great job.
I am 77 years old and have been wearing hearing aids for at least 17 years. My experience over the past 17 years has proven to me that wearing a hearing aid in each ear was the best way to improve my quality of hearing. It has never bothered me for people to see my hearing aids. Some people do not wear hearing aids because they do not want people to know they have a hearing loss. Today many people are wearing hearing aids, and this is no different than wearing glasses because you have a vision loss.
Two years ago I was referred to Dr. Susan Lew at Ballas Hearing & Audiology. I was having trouble hearing in groups, in church, TV, radio and young children. I started avoiding these situations because I felt so self conscious. After receiving my digital “computerized” hearing aids, the first think I heard were my directional signals in my car which I hadn’t been hearing either. I now have no problem in groups or at restaurants. In fact, I can hear conversations at other tables without them interfering with the conversation at my table. To this date, very few people realize I have hearing aids as the aids blend in with the coloring of my hair and skin and are not noticeable. I highly recommend Dr. Susan Lew at Ballas Hearing & Audiology for a new lease on life.
